Rev. William deForest,82, passed away on Wednesday, August 14 after a long illness and a brief hospital stay.

Born in Albany, New York, on May 5, 1937, he was the fourth son of Mulford and Grace (Rohrer) deForest.

I worked with Will supervising the Buskirk Reformed Church on behalf of Schenectady Classis and have fond memories of the hour-long (each way) travel to monthly meetings during which we shared stories of family and ministry. When he retired from Lynwood Reformed he offered me first pick from the books his library -- I hauled away a sack-full of commentaries and spiritual writings. I still have some of them today!

Rev. deForest married me in 1970, baptized my daughter and buried my mother-in-law, Lovie. Have wonderful memories of him & Carole. I am saddened but know he is at peace with the Lord. Laurie Egnell

Rev. Will was a fantastic minister & a good family friend to all us Mohr's. He christened my daughter Jamie, performed the wedding ceremony of my sister-in-law Sharon, he & Carol went all the way to Salamanca to help my mother-in-law move household goods when her mom died. He spoke at my father-in-law's service at Lynnwood, & christened my niece Emily & nephew Sam at Lynnwood.
He was the best, & will be sorely missed here. I know he is up there smiling with the Lord now.
